Customize your Facebook page
We don’t all sport a military haircut, so why should any Facebook page look uniformly blah? Uniforms are for school girls at private schools or sorry boys at boot camp.
Time to customize your Facebook page now!
A well-designed and balanced page will make a good impression on real friends, internet friends, and snooping visitors. Welcome them and make them “like” your page and whatever you put on it. Meet more friends, or… much better… fans!
After Mark Z. upgraded his online mine site a few months ago, to customize your Facebook page you now need an iFrame application, which can be quite a challenge even with superb tutorials available. But it’s doable, with a little patience.
With the new design, you now have a relatively bigger profile picture in the upper left corner and five small ones (tagged by you or our friends) under your short bio details.
And here are the Top 5 websites that can help you customize your Facebook page even better:
1. picturize.me
This is a Microsoft Silverlight app, which lets you significantly improve your FB profile page. All you need to do is upload an image, scale it and upload it to FB. The MS Silverlight only takes a few seconds.
2. fbphotomagic.com
Upload a photo from your computer on the FB Photo Magic website, modify the photo with your mouse, and preview the result. If you like it, simply click the “save” button, download the picture and load it up on Facebook manually. You can also upload it straight from the website itself.
3. picscatter.com
You may edit your picture by zooming and moving it on the Pic Scatter website. Then download the modified picture in a Zip file, or send them to your FB page directly. Pic Scatter will put its badge in the main picture but don’t worry, it doesn’t look kitschy.
4. facebooktiles.com
This is another profile picture generator. You just drag and drop photos from your computer, pick the number of lines you want to use below your name, zoom or move the pictures, then click the “Generate” tab, and voila!
5. pagerage.com
This plugin will help you change the appearance of your whole profile on FB. How? Use the Yontoo Client, which is responsible for the modifications, and then PageRage, which provides the layout.
